Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day management of performance campaigns across channels (e.g., search, social, display, retargeting) to meet growth and efficiency targets
  • Build and maintain tracking and measurement discipline (pixels/tags, attribution settings, conversion events) to ensure reliable reporting
  • Develop audience, keyword, and creative testing plans, then execute experiments and document learnings
  • Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks (targeting, funnel conversion, landing pages, offer/creative) and recommend changes
  • Optimize campaign structure, bidding strategy, budgets, and spend allocation based on performance trends and forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align campaign goals with landing pages, creative, and product messaging requirements
  • Produce regular performance reporting and insights that translate metrics into actions and next steps

Must-have qualifications

  • Hands-on experience managing paid acquisition campaigns in production (e.g., Google Ads and/or Meta Ads)
  • Demonstrated ability to use performance marketing analytics to make optimization decisions (CAC/CPA, ROAS, conversion rates, funnel drop-offs)
  • Experience setting up and validating conversion tracking and attribution (pixels/tags, conversion events, testing measurement changes)
  • Working knowledge of A/B testing or structured experimentation for ads, audiences, and landing page conversion improvements
  • Ability to create actionable reporting dashboards or recurring performance reports using common analytics/BI approaches
  • Comfort managing budgets and scaling campaigns while controlling for efficiency

Nice to have

  • Experience with marketing data tooling such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker/Tableau, or similar
  • Experience running retargeting and funnel-based campaign strategies
  • Basic familiarity with landing page optimization concepts and how they impact conversion outcomes

What success looks like in 12 months

  • Reliable campaign measurement and reporting
  • Improve paid efficiency through optimization and experimentation
  • Scale what works with disciplined budget management
  • Strengthen creative and audience testing cadence
  • Operational excellence in campaign management

Logistics

  • Full-time (40 hours a week), remote from Latin America.
  • Working hours overlap with US business hours.

Outcomes to measure

What this hire should deliver in the first year. Replace [N] with your own targets.

  • Reliable campaign measurement and reporting. Measure: Implement and validate conversion tracking so reporting reflects intended conversion events for [X]% of campaigns and key funnels, with documented QA checks before and after changes
  • Improve paid efficiency through optimization and experimentation. Measure: Reduce blended CPA/CAC by [X]% while maintaining or improving conversion volume by [X]% (or ROAS increase of [X]%); achieve targets for at least [X] key experiments
  • Scale what works with disciplined budget management. Measure: Increase profitable spend by [X]% across priority campaigns/channels without breaching agreed efficiency thresholds of [X]%
  • Strengthen creative and audience testing cadence. Measure: Execute a continuous testing plan delivering [N] tests over 12 months, with post-test analysis and documented learnings applied to subsequent iterations
  • Operational excellence in campaign management. Measure: Maintain campaign execution SLAs (launches/edits within [X] business hours) for [X]% of requested changes and produce recurring performance reporting on schedule for [X]% of weeks

Competencies and weights

What to evaluate, how much it counts and what a strong answer looks like.

Paid Search Mastery · 22%
This role requires independent ownership of high-impact acquisition channels and optimization decisions tied to campaign performance. Evaluated in Round 1.

  • Weak: Relies on broad changes without linking actions to specific performance signals
  • Meets the bar: Optimizes campaigns using data (keywords/ad groups/bidding/budget) and documents results
  • Strong: Leads structured optimizations that improve efficiency and scaling outcomes across campaigns, with clear before/after learnings

Tracking and Attribution QA · 20%
Accurate measurement underpins every optimization; failures here lead to wasted spend and incorrect decisions. Evaluated in Round 2.

  • Weak: Changes tracking without validating conversion event integrity end-to-end
  • Meets the bar: Implements and verifies pixels/tags/conversion events and confirms reporting consistency
  • Strong: Proactively diagnoses discrepancies, validates attribution settings, and prevents measurement regressions with repeatable QA processes

Paid Social Execution · 18%
Meta/social execution and creative-to-audience alignment are critical to improving conversion and efficiency. Evaluated in Round 1.

  • Weak: Runs campaigns with limited experimentation or unclear attribution of results
  • Meets the bar: Uses targeting, creative variations, and budget/bidding adjustments based on measurable outcomes
  • Strong: Designs and iterates audience/creative strategies that consistently improve ROAS/CPA and scaling stability

Experimentation and Optimization · 16%
Structured experimentation is the engine for continuous improvement across ads, audiences, and conversion pathways. Evaluated in Round 2.

  • Weak: Makes changes ad hoc and can’t explain expected impact or how results will be judged
  • Meets the bar: Runs A/B tests or controlled experiments with clear hypotheses and evaluation criteria
  • Strong: Builds a repeatable experimentation roadmap, selects tests based on opportunity, and scales winners with rigorous learnings

Data-Driven Reporting · 12%
Stakeholders need crisp insights that translate metrics into decisions and next actions. Evaluated in Round 3.

  • Weak: Reports metrics without identifying drivers, trade-offs, or recommendations
  • Meets the bar: Creates recurring reports that highlight performance trends, drivers, and prioritized actions
  • Strong: Produces decision-grade insights (segmentation, funnel analysis, forecasting) and aligns recommendations to business goals

Budget Scaling Discipline · 12%
Scaling requires balancing growth with efficiency; this competency ensures controlled expansion. Evaluated in Round 3.

  • Weak: Increases spend without clear efficiency guardrails or monitoring
  • Meets the bar: Adjusts budgets based on performance trends and keeps efficiency within defined limits
  • Strong: Forecasts impact, manages pacing, and scales spend while protecting conversion quality and efficiency
Interview questions

Questions for every interview round

Each round has an owner, a time box and questions that test the competencies above.

Round 1: Channel performance deep dive
Marketing Lead · 60 min

  1. Walk through a paid search campaign you managed end-to-end: targeting/structure, bidding approach, and the specific performance improvements you drove (include metrics).
  2. Describe a paid social campaign you owned: how you chose audiences and creative angles, what you tested, and what changed after the data.
  3. Tell me about a time you identified a mismatch between campaign goals and early performance; what signals did you look at and what actions did you take?
  4. How do you decide when to scale vs. when to reduce budget or restructure? Give a concrete example.

Round 2: Measurement and experimentation
Analytics/MarTech Manager · 60 min

  1. Explain how you set up and validated conversion tracking (pixels/tags, conversion events). What checks do you perform to ensure accuracy before relying on reports?
  2. Describe a time measurement broke (e.g., missing events, attribution changes). How did you detect it, isolate the cause, and restore reliable reporting?
  3. How do you design A/B tests for ads, audiences, or landing-page conversions? Share a test you ran: hypothesis, success criteria, and what you did after results.
  4. When you run multiple tests, how do you prioritize them to maximize learning and efficiency gains?

Round 3: Insights, reporting, and scaling decisions
Growth Manager · 60 min

  1. Walk through how you produce weekly or recurring performance reporting. What sections do you include to drive decisions, and what metrics do you emphasize?
  2. Give an example of a performance insight you derived from funnel analysis (e.g., CTR to CVR breakdown). What conclusion did you reach and what actions followed?
  3. Describe how you manage budgets over time: pacing, monitoring signals, and rules/guardrails for scaling while controlling CPA/CAC.
  4. Tell me about a time you made a trade-off decision (e.g., efficiency vs. volume). How did you evaluate risk and success?

Red flags to watch for

  • Cannot clearly explain how conversion tracking works or how they validate that reported conversions match expected events
  • Provides examples with no measurable impact (no metrics, no baseline/target, or unclear cause-and-effect)
  • Relies primarily on opinions or one-off changes rather than structured optimization and experimentation
  • Confuses attribution concepts and is unable to discuss how reporting might be misleading or how they mitigate that risk
